Life in Prague

Prague is a vibrant, lively metropolis that offers a wide range of entertainment, be it culture, sport, education, or cafés and pubs. It is one of the safest cities in the world. Czechia as a whole is currently the 8th safest country in the world according to the Global Peace Index. Compared to many European metropoles, Prague is also one of the most affordable for students.

FSV UK does not have a single campus. It resides in three buildings: Hollar and Opletalova in the very centre of the city and the Jinonice Campus a bit further away but still within easy reach. Depending on what study program you choose, you will be based in one of them but you can also take classes in the others. Our dense and reliable public transport network will allow you to commute quickly and comfortably not only between our buildings. Prague is also very safe (not to mention beautiful) for walking.

You will meet a lot of foreign students in Prague. There are many studying here full-time and each semester, even more students arrive for Erasmus stays. To help international students engage with other students outside of their study programs, a faculty-wide, student-led society was established. It is called FSV UK Circle and you can take a peek at their Instagram to see how many various activities they organise and share. You can listen to the podcast with them here. The faculty itself also organizes a lot of events for international students, starting with a welcome party right after your arrival to Prague. We also have a Career Day specifically for international students.

Did you know? Prague is among the top 20 cities to live in according to Gen Z!
