Digital Social Science
As digital technologies reshape societies, economies, and political life, this interdisciplinary PhD program provides the tools to understand and investigate these transformations. Jointly offered by several faculties, it combines methodological training with specialized research in areas such as security, financial technologies, digital anthropology, law and data, and language technologies. You will develop expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including machine learning and large-scale data analysis, preparing you for careers in research, policy-making, and other fields seeking specialists capable of addressing the challenges of the digital age.

Program description
Digital Social Science is a joint program of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Arts, with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics being an associated partner and providing training in computational methods at various levels of complexity and supervising research in language technologies.
The program focuses on social phenomena largely manifested in the online environment. Their study requires an interdisciplinary structure of competences and appropriate data-analytical methodological training. It is a unique interdisciplinary and inter-institutional doctoral program that offers a modern and effective way of addressing the complex problems of contemporary society.
You will choose one area to focus on: Security Science, Financial Technologies and Services, Digital Anthropology, Law and Data, and Language Technologies. However, joint accreditation ensures the interconnectedness of individual segments, which is underlined by common methodical training.
