International Relations
Do you seek to examine international and security issues through a strong theoretical and methodological lens? Building on the expertise of the Departments of International Relations and Security Studies, this PhD program offers you opportunities to engage with research on international institutions, European integration, security, and global transformations. You will be prepared to pursue careers in research and higher education, as well as analytical and leadership positions in international organizations, public administration, NGOs, media, and the private sector.

Program description
This PhD program aims to train experts capable of approaching the analysis of a wide range of international issues on the basis of competences built with an emphasis on theoretical reflection on international relations, methodological training, and the ability to grasp the research framework of the chosen topic.
Priority research areas of the Department of International Relations and the Department of Security Studies which jointly offer this program have long included theoretical reflection on the institutional framework of cooperative processes, institutional dynamics of the European integration process, international security issues, and the impact of globalization on the nature of international relations on a global and regional scale.
