At the Faculty of Social Sciences, we strive to create an open and inspiring environment where students can develop the skills and critical thinking needed to understand and navigate the complexities of today’s world. Our goal is to support and empower students to become engaged, responsible, and actively shape the societies of tomorrow.

Our values are rooted in the strong foundation of the almost 700 years tradition of Charles University, the oldest higher education institution in Central and Southeastern Europe. At the same time, the Faculty of Social Sciences is the second youngest of all CUNI faculties and strives to bring constant innovation into its research and educational standards.

We are lucky to have a highly international academic community with students coming from over 100 countries all over the world. We consider this one of our greatest advantages and an opportunity to highlight varying experiences. The diversity of points of view not only enriches our classrooms, but also gives our graduates a truly global perspective on current world issues.

We believe that the most pressing challenges of our time cannot be solved from a single perspective. Our study programs are built to integrate insights from various fields and within global context. This interdisciplinary focus encourages creative problem solving and prepares our graduates to approach real-world problems with flexibility and depth.

We are dedicated to advancing knowledge through impactful research. Our faculty members are active in international academic debates and frequently collaborate on projects addressing key societal issues. Students are encouraged to engage in research early on, gaining hands-on experience and analytical skills essential for both academic and professional success.
